About this file

This is Addendum Number 2 to the YOS Building 7 HVAC Replacement project issued by Schendt Engineering Corporation on behalf of the Colorado Department of Corrections. The addendum modifies the original contract documents and specifications for HVAC replacement work at the facility. The bid submission deadline is Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum and the previous addendum with their bid submission. All bidders, subcontractors, and material suppliers must review the addendum to understand how it affects their respective work scopes.

The addendum provides four key modifications to the project requirements. First, the Colorado Department of Corrections Life Safety Officer will conduct hazardous material testing and any required abatement work, with contractors assuming existing surfaces and insulation are free of asbestos-containing materials for bidding purposes. Second, baseboard radiators must be controlled through a local thermostat mounted 48 inches above finished floor on an interior wall within a thermostat lock-box, with initial setpoint at 70 degrees Fahrenheit and modulating control valve operation as specified. Third, a Building Automation System control panel with 120-volt service duplex receptacle must be installed in Security & Storage room 113 and coordinated with existing conditions and Owner approval. Fourth, bidding documents are available through Schendt Engineering's FTP site at ftp://96.81.48.17/CDOC_YOS_B7/ with all documents distributed electronically.
