About this file
This document is an Ordering Data Sheet for a radioactive source that is part of a Federal Contract Opportunity. The radioactive source is a nine nuclide gamma calibration source with a total activity of 3.0 microcuries that must be NIST-traceable and have associated activity and uncertainty reporting for each nuclide. The source is to be shipped to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in San Diego, CA. The related Federal Contract Opportunity is a pre-solicitation from the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command for radioactive sources, with interested parties asked to contact the agency. No further details about the solicitation or contract requirements are provided in the document.

ORDERING DATA SHEET – GENERAL
NOUN NAME: RADIOACTIVE SOURCE
DESCRIPTION:
1 ea Nine nuclide gamma calibration source with radioactivity deposited onto glass fiber filter with 47 mm OD and 41 mm diameter active area encapsulated between two layers of Kapton.
-Nuclide mixture: Cd-109, Co-57, Te-123m, Cr-51, Sn 113, Sr-85, Cs-137, Y-88, Co-60 with nuclide activity ratios selected to provide similar count rates on typical coaxial high-purity germanium detectors.
-Active diameter: 41 mm
-Total source activity shall be 3.0 microcuries (–15%, +0%)
-The vendor must insure that the source activity is not greater than exempt quantity per 10 CFR 30.
-The reported radioactivity uncertainty of each nuclide shall not exceed ± 5% at the 99% confidence level.
-Surface contamination levels on the source and packing materials must be less than 450 pCi/100cm^2.
