About this file
This document is an Ordering Data Sheet for a sealed beta reference source. The key details are:
The source is a steel disk with an active element surrounded by an aluminum ring and aluminized Mylar window. It has an overall diameter of 47 mm, active diameter of 41 mm, and height of 3.18 mm. The source activity is 100 nCi (+/- 10%) of Pm-147. The vendor must ensure the activity is less than exempt quantity per 10 CFR 30. The reported radioactivity uncertainty must not exceed 5% at 99% confidence. Surface contamination must be less than 450 pCi/100cm2. A Certificate of Calibration is required, which must be NIST-traceable and document the total activity, activity of each nuclide, uncertainty, reference time/date, gamma impurities, and source serial number.
The source will be shipped to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The vendor must contact the shipyard prior to shipping to provide tracking information. Changes to the technical requirements are not allowed without shipyard approval.
