About this file
This document is an Ordering Data Sheet for a radioactive source. The key details are:
The source is a nine nuclide gamma calibration source in the form of a 500 ml solid epoxy matrix. The nuclide mixture includes Cd-109, Co-57, Te-123m, Cr-51, Sn-113, Sr-85, Cs-137, Y-88, and Co-60. The active volume is 500 ml with a density of 1.0 g/cc. The total source activity shall be 3.0 microcuries (-15%, +0%), and the radioactivity uncertainty for each nuclide shall not exceed 5% at the 99% confidence level. Surface contamination levels must be less than 450 pCi/100cm^2. A Certificate of Calibration from the vendor is required, which must document the NIST-traceability, nuclide activities and uncertainty, density, volume, and serial number. The source is to be shipped by the vendor to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
This Ordering Data Sheet is associated with a pre-solicitation for a federal contract opportunity from the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command to procure this radioactive source. The solicitation number is N4523A-VL00.
