About this file
This document is an Ordering Data Sheet for a nine nuclide gamma calibration source with radioactivity deposited onto a glass fiber filter. The source must have a total activity of 3.0 microcuries (-15%, +0%) with specific nuclide activity ratios. Certification requirements include NIST traceability, activity and uncertainty reporting for each nuclide, and leakage testing. The source must be shipped to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA, with prior notification to the designated point of contact.
The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for the procurement of this radioactive source. The solicitation number is N4523A-VL00, and the contracting agency is the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command. The communication is a sources sought initiative to connect with potential interested parties for a future solicitation.

ORDERING DATA SHEET – GENERAL
NOUN NAME: RADIOACTIVE SOURCE
DESCRIPTION:
1 ea Nine nuclide gamma calibration source with radioactivity deposited onto glass fiber filter with 47 mm OD and 41 mm diameter active area encapsulated between two layers of Kapton.
-Nuclide mixture: Cd-109, Co-57, Te-123m, Cr-51, Sn 113, Sr-85, Cs-137, Y-88, Co-60 with nuclide activity ratios selected to provide similar count rates on typical coaxial high-purity germanium detectors.
-Active diameter: 41 mm
-Total source activity shall be 3.0 microcuries (–15%, +0%)
-The vendor must insure that the source activity is not greater than exempt quantity per 10 CFR 30.
-The reported radioactivity uncertainty of each nuclide shall not exceed ± 5% at the 99% confidence level.
-Surface contamination levels on the source and packing materials must be less than 450 pCi/100cm^2.
MATERIAL: N/A
