PREFACE

JOINT CREW PROVISIONING CATALOG

This document will serve as a general reference to provide International Space Station (ISS) crewmembers with the currently available selection of ISS crew provisioning items (flight crew equipment) through comprehensive data and color photographs. The catalog includes clothing, office supplies and personal hygiene items that will be used to familiarize and prepare crewmembers for the fitcheck/selection exercises. Also included at the back of the catalog is a reference section. The reference sections include batteries, countermeasures, housekeeping and sanitary hygiene items. Both U.S.-provided and Russian-provided items are included. All crew provisioning items currently listed in this catalog have been certified and approved for use on the ISS in the U.S. segment. Russian segment certification is obtained when the items are specifically manifested. The majority of the items in this catalog have flown. Launch vehicle certification is obtained separately.

The data compiled in this catalog was gathered from numerous sources: Lockheed Martin Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) Crew Provisions, Engineering Directorate, Flight Crew Operations Directorate (FCOD), ISSP Logistics & Maintenance Office, Space and Life Sciences Directorate, United Space Alliance, Russian Space Corporation-Energia, Institute of Bio-Medical Problems, Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, and Kentavr Co., Ltd.

The Joint Crew Provisioning Catalog is a team-controlled document, delegated to, developed and maintained by the Crew Provisioning Team, under the control of the Flight Planning Integration and Operations Office. All changes to this document will be processed under the control of the Flight Planning Integration and Operations Office management.

SLG33114899-003

The X-Static Socks are made of 100% cotton with a silver fiber running through them for antibacterial qualities. There is a layer of pure silver permanently bonded to the surface of the textile fiber, generally containing about 15% pure silver. X-Static clothing is anti-microbial and anti-odor; eliminating 99.9% of odor-causing bacteria in less than an hour of exposure and athlete’s foot fungus. X-Static clothing has heat transfer properties - cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. X-Static clothing is antistatic, because silver has the highest electrical conductivity rating of any element. Just a small quantity of X-Static in apparel or socks will instantly dissipate triboelectric charges, meaning static-free comfortable products. The X-Static clothing is all natural; totally safe and non-toxic, containing no chemicals or pesticides.
