1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this document is to provide definition of the physical and functional interface requirements between the PMA and U.S. Pressurized Elements to support the interface with the Orbiter.
The scope of this document covers the interface between PMA−2 and Node Element 2 (Node 2) at Permanent Human Capability (PHC) 6 configuration. The PMA−2 and Node 2 document will be referred to as the core document. The PMA−3 to Node 3 interface at PHC 6 is covered in Appendix E of this document. All interim PMA−2 and PMA−3 interfaces with Node Element 1 (Node 1) and the PMA−2 interfaces with the U.S. Laboratory Element (USL) that occur during build up of the Space Station to PHC 6 are documented in individual appendices of this document.
See Appendix B for PMA−2 to USL interface definition.
See Appendix C for PMA−2 to Node 1 interface definition.
See Appendix D for PMA−3 to Node 1 interface definition.
See Appendix E for PMA−3 to Node 3 interface definition.
See Appendix F for PMA−2 to PMA−1 definition.
Throughout section 3.0 of this ICD when statements such as: (1) PMA−3/2 shall provide/supply various services to Node 2/1 or (2) PMA−3/2 shall control various services to Node 2/1, the intent is for the PMA to act as a transfer agent/conduit for utilities services and not to actually control the characteristics of the service or transfer.
1.2 PRECEDENCE
In the event of conflict between the applicable SSP 41162, United States On Orbit Segment (USOS) Specification and the contents of this Interface Control Document (ICD), the requirements of the USOS Specification shall take precedence. In the event of conflict between the contents of this ICD and any related Prime Item Development Specification, the contents of this ICD shall take precedence.
1.3 RESPONSIBILITY AND CHANGE AUTHORITY
This document is prepared and maintained in accordance with SSP 30459, International Space Station Interface Control Plan.
