About this file
This document provides details for a federal contract opportunity for the Solar Wind Plasma Sensor (SWiPS) Space Weather Follow-On (SWFO-L1) Mission. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure a SWiPS instrument for the SWFO-L1 Mission. The SWFO-L1 Observatory, a joint undertaking of NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will provide NOAA with continuity of solar wind and coronal mass ejection data to support the National Weather Service's highest priority space weather observations. The SWiPS instrument will measure ion flux populations with or without mass discrimination as a function of energy and be integrated onto the SWFO-L1 satellite. The solicitation number is 80GSFC19R0048 and responses are expected in response to the forthcoming RFP.
