About this file
This document is a request for proposals for the Solar Wind Plasma Sensor (SWiPS) for the Space Weather Follow On (SWFO-L1) Mission. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Goddard Space Flight Center plans to issue an RFP to obtain a SWiPS instrument that will measure ion flux populations with or without mass discrimination as a function of energy. The instrument will be part of the SWFO-L1 satellite, which is a high priority joint undertaking between NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The purpose of the SWFO-L1 Observatory is to provide NOAA with continuity of solar wind data and coronal mass ejection imagery, which supports NOAA's highest priority for space weather observations. Responses to solicitation number 80GSFC19R0048 are requested to fulfill NASA's needs for this mission.
