About this file

This document is a detailed Appendix 8 for MLK Door Hardware & Controls, prepared for a Library building project in accordance with Wisconsin state building codes and regulations. The appendix provides comprehensive specifications for door hardware, including requirements for materials, finishes, installation, and integration with security systems. Key specifications cover hardware types such as latches, locks, exit devices, hinges, door closures, push and pull hardware, and miscellaneous components. The document outlines strict requirements for materials (predominantly stainless steel and aluminum), finishes (US26D satin chrome and US32D satin stainless steel), and compliance with building codes like the 2015 International Building Code and ANSI A117.1 accessibility standards.

The technical specifications include specific manufacturer recommendations for hardware components, such as PDQ, Sargent, Schlage for locks, Von Duprin for exit devices, LCN for door closures, and requirements for integration with security systems like JCI P2000. The appendix details installation standards, including requirements for UL ratings, fire safety compliance, and accessibility. Additional provisions cover keying systems, demolition procedures, submittal requirements, and the need for coordination with various trades. The document emphasizes the importance of matching existing building standards and requires pre-order confirmation meetings with the owner and architect to finalize specific hardware selections and profiles.
