About this file

The document is an Affidavit of Compliance with Living Wage Provision from the Milwaukee Public Library, addressing the City of Milwaukee's Ordinance 310-13 regarding living wage requirements for contractors. The document outlines the minimum wage rates for workers, which have increased over time, with the most recent changes showing a base wage of $12.21 per hour effective March 1, 2022, and a significant increase to $15.00 per hour effective October 8, 2022.

The affidavit requires contractors to pay all workers, both full-time and part-time, at least the living wage rate as determined yearly by the City Clerk. Contractors must submit a sworn affidavit every three months during the contract term and within 10 days of contract completion, and also procure similar affidavits from subcontractors. The living wage rates have been incrementally increasing since 1995, with notable jumps in 2014 to $10.10 per hour and in 2022 to $15.00 per hour, based on updates to the City of Milwaukee Ordinance through Common Council files.
