About this file
This is a Criminal History Record document related to Salt Lake County's Sheriff's Office Towing Rotation request for competitive bid (RFC). The Sheriff's Office, through Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement, is seeking to expand its supplier pool by adding multiple additional towing vendors to an existing rotation towing project. The procurement aims to increase availability and capacity for 24/7, 365-days-per-year towing services. Successful bidders meeting all specifications will be added to the towing rotation, with charges for towing services billed to vehicle owners and/or their insurance carriers rather than to the county.
Perspective towing companies must maintain permanent, marked equipment with the company name and logo and cannot utilize substitute equipment or temporary leases from other providers. Tow operators are required to respond to local calls within 30 minutes and to unincorporated or canyon area calls within 60 minutes. Companies must be equipped to handle large vehicles and items in challenging terrain and inclement weather conditions. Upon arrival at a scene, the assigned vehicle or item must be removed; drivers cannot decline calls once on scene. Additionally, tow companies are responsible for complete scene cleanup, including removal of oil, radiator fluid, absorbent materials, and other vehicular debris or fluids resulting from accidents. Failure to arrive within specified timeframes results in call cancellation with no allowable charges to the Sheriff's Office or vehicle owner.
