About this file
This statement of work document outlines the requirements for a construction project to replace an emergency generator at Building 4 of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. The project includes replacing an existing 150kw generator with a new 500kw generator, installing a new 800 amp automatic transfer switch and emergency circuit panel, connecting various building systems like chilled water pumps and fans to the emergency electrical system, and connecting the building's vivarium holding room circuits and Siemens BAS panels. The scope of work specifies design documents, codes and standards to be followed, project management responsibilities, submittal requirements, a schedule with a 240 day performance period and 30 day closeout, the review process, requirements for reimbursing stored materials, as-built drawing and O&M manual deliverables, contractor health and safety policies, and contact information for the contracting officer, project officer and contractor's project manager.
This federal contract opportunity posting is to award multiple indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity construction contracts under a Multiple Award Construction Contract for general construction services at the National Institutes of Health. The total program value for the 8-year IDIQ contracts is not to exceed $2 billion. Anticipated awards include up to 16 contracts with up to 12 set aside for small businesses including HUBZone, 8(a), and service disabled veteran owned small businesses. A pre-proposal site visit is required for a seed project with responses due around March 14, 2019 and awards to be made thereafter.
