About this file

This specifications document outlines the requirements for exercise equipment maintenance and repair services for Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office facilities, including the Adult Detention Center (ADC) and the Sheriff's Office Administration Building (SOAB). The contractor must provide regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on a quarterly basis (approximately every 90 days) and as-needed repair services authorized through Purchase Orders. Preventative maintenance and repair work shall be performed exclusively between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, unless the County requests otherwise. During scheduled maintenance visits, the contractor must conduct comprehensive inspections of each equipment item and perform minor adjustments and repairs appropriate to the specific machine type. Preventative maintenance tasks include cleaning and vacuuming, lubricating chains and guide rods, checking electronic error codes and calibration, verifying belt tension and resistance settings, and inspecting all functional components for proper operation.

The specifications detail that preventative maintenance for newly replaced equipment will not be performed or charged during the manufacturer's warranty period unless the warranty specifically requires such maintenance as requested by the Sheriff's Office. The contractor is responsible for maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including the date, time, equipment serviced, work performed, and parts utilized. All work must comply with manufacturers' specifications and industry standards, and the contractor must possess appropriate certifications and insurance coverage. No pricing information, set-aside provisions, incumbent contractor details, or contract award dates are specified in this document, as it functions solely as the technical specifications and service level requirements for bidders to develop their proposals.
