About this file
This is an Addendum (Addendum No. 2) to a Request for Proposal issued by Argonne National Laboratory's Procurement Department on April 3, 2026, for Solicitation 6-JV79-P-00119-00, Site-Wide Laundry Service. The addendum provides clarifications and responses to contractor questions regarding the laundry service requirements.
The solicitation involves providing laundry services, uniform rentals, lab coat purchases, shop towels, and face coverings for approximately 400 Argonne employees. Key service parameters include Monday service across 28 stops requiring 4-8 hours to complete, with flexible service order at the contractor's discretion. The facility is open for deliveries Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., excluding holidays and emergencies. Site access requires completion of Contractor Safety Orientation, Job Safety Analysis briefing, and a Gate Pass; no escort is required for qualified personnel. Contractors must accommodate quarterly onsite inventories and work with a single technical representative as the primary contact for inventory and product changes. Performance will be measured through uniform wearer surveys, consistency and timeliness in issue resolution, and garment condition. The incumbent vendor representative visits weekly for 4 hours and participates in biweekly standing conference calls. The contract term shall not exceed 5 years with possible extensions. Acceptable specifications include state-of-the-art garment finishing without pressing most items, women's garments in 65/35 cotton-polyester blend in specified colors, RFID chip tracking with web portal reporting, and heat-stitched emblems (heat sealing without stitching is not acceptable).

April 3, 2026 This addendum is being issued to modify the subject FORMDROPDOWN as follows:
Clarifications:
1. Contractor Question: How long does it currently take the incumbent vendor to complete the full Monday service across all 28 stops, and what are the required service windows for each location?
Argonne Response: 4 – 8 hours. Offeror may determine their own order of service stops, there is no specific time schedule set for individual buildings.
2. Contractor Question: Are there any site-specific access requirements, restrictions, or escorts needed for vendor personnel at different buildings? Are there any restricted delivery times due to operations, security, or safety protocols?
Argonne Response: Site open for deliveries M-F (7am to 7 pm) unless closed for holiday or emergency. No escort is required for individuals who have completed our Contractor Safety Orientation and are briefed on a Job Safety Analysis document. A Gate Pass will be issued and can be used to access both the site and required individual buildings.
3. Contractor Question: Would we have access to all areas to perform quarterly inventories onsite (inventories would be scheduled in advance)
Argonne Response: Yes
4. Contractor Question: What are the security clearance requirements for the vendors, for badges and access to delivery areas, that need to be set up prior to installation?
Argonne Response: Visit https://www.anl.gov/argonne-national-laboratory and see Visiting Argonne page, as well as the Appendix A terms and conditions for site access requirements.
5. Contractor Question: What KPI’s will be used to measure the vendor?
Argonne Response: Uniform wearer surveys, consistency and timeliness in resolving issues, condition of laundered garments.
6. Contractor Question: How are service issues/needs currently tracked/escalated?
Argonne Response: Currently we use a form to email vendor of any issues. A representative from current vendor is on-site once a week for 4 hours. We also have a standing conference call every other Friday.
7. Contractor Question: Who is responsible for communicating changes to inventory and products needed? (by department or by one main contact?)
Argonne Response: Single contact (Tech Rep.)
8. Contractor Question: Is there any flexibility regarding the term of service? This is a significant investment providing New Garments. We would request a 60-month initial agreement with 2 12-month extensions.
Argonne Response: At this time, 5 year term would be the maximum
9. Contractor Question: We see a tremendous amount of Cotton Garments. Can you share why? Neither 100% Cotton or 63/35 Blended garments provide any PPE to the wearer.
Argonne Response: There are 50 – 100 employees who will require cotton uniforms.
10. Contractor Question: Are women’s garments being blended 65/35 with Shirt colors Navy, Sky Blue & White, Pants colors are Navy, Black & Charcoal. All other garments colors would only be available in Unisex. Would this be acceptable?
Argonne Response: Yes
11. Contractor Question: We use a state-of-the-art finishing system for all garments and only press executive garments. Is this acceptable?
Argonne Response: Yes
12. Contractor Question: We heat seal our emblems and do not stitch. Is this acceptable?
Argonne Response: No
13. Contractor Question: We use an RFID chip to track all garments which are scanned at our facility, not on site. We do provide both reports and access through our web portal to verify both soiled and clean garments. Is this acceptable?
Argonne Response: Yes
ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE ABOVE REFERENCED RFP REMAIN THE SAME.
