About this file
This document is a Scope of Work (SOW) for a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) project to renovate a 70 ft QRI ARSR-2 tower located in Black Mountain, Lynch, Kentucky. The project involves two primary components: tower and building renovation, and CCTV system replacement. For the tower renovation, the contractor must conduct due diligence, perform surface preparation (scraping, sanding, grinding), replace rusted hardware, remove and dispose of lead paint, and repaint the tower with FAA-approved aviation orange and white lead-free paint.
The CCTV system replacement requires removing and replacing existing equipment, including one PTZ camera, one outdoor PTZ corner mounting bracket, four stationary cameras, four indoor/outdoor mounting brackets, one digital video recorder, one computer monitor, one hard drive, one converter for PTZ control, and one power panel. The project is scheduled to start in the summer of 2025, with a 50-calendar-day construction timeline. The contractor must provide a comprehensive project management approach, including developing a critical path method schedule, maintaining project budget tracking, providing submittals for FAA approval, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. An onsite FAA Resident Engineer will inspect and interface with the contractor's site supervisor during construction.
