About this file

This document is a justification for other than full and open competition for a federal contract opportunity to renovate space at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The project involves fully renovating approximately 4,000 square feet in Building 310 to increase privacy for patients and comfort. Work includes installing 10 new exam rooms, upgrading 27 existing exam rooms with new sinks, and updating finishes. A key requirement is the installation of Chicago Faucet electronic-AC faucets with internal temperature control mixers in new restrooms. These are needed to reduce water consumption and minimize bacteria transmission. The justification cites that Chicago Faucets is the only responsible source that can provide integration with the existing campus plumbing system and manage bacterial risks. The estimated value for the faucets is undisclosed. The solicitation will be set aside 100% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office. The bid opening will be approximately 30 days after July 29, 2020 when the solicitation is posted to SAM.gov.
