DLA Site Improvements RFI:

1. Please provide all soils testing that relates to the location this building is to be installed. (SOW pg. 5, Part 2.1, Spec 31 23 00.00 20)

Response: Soil reports from the surrounding areas are attached. See Attachments (AA) Soil Report 2019, (AB) Soil Report 2022a, (AC) Soil Report 2022b, & (AD) Soil Summary.

2. Where, on facility, can the “unsuitable" soils be disposed? (SOW pg. 5, Part 2.1, Spec 31 23 00.00 20)

Response: All excess soil must be removed and disposed offsite per the Soil Management Plan.

See Attachment (AE) Soil Mgmt Plan.

3. Please provide Existing/As-built drawings of all underground Utilities within the Excavation area for DLA Site Development (2 Bay Metal Building). This is to include, but is not limited to, the following:

Sewer lines, Telecom Lines, Diesel Fuel Lines. (Drawings C103/C104)

Response: Available utility drawings are attached. See Attachments (AF) Utility Map 2020 and (AG) Utility Map 2021.

4. Please provide existing trailer support conditions (for trailer being moved). (Drawings C103/C104)

Response: Trailer has been relocated by SUBASE.

5. Please provide a new trailer location and confirm the trailer is not being put back in original location.

(Drawings C103/C104)

Response: Trailer has been relocated by SUBASE.

6. What are the existing Asphalt conditions (Depth of Asphalt and Subbase stone)? (Drawings C502)

Response: Existing pavement consists of 8” processed gravel subbase, 3” bituminous base and 2” overlay.

7. Please provide a complete drawing set of the Existing Underground Utilities along the path of the new electrical Duct Bank (electrical service to the 2-bay new structure). These drawings need to include the type of utility crossings, Depth to top of utility and material of construction of the utility. (Drawings C107/C108)

Response: Available utility drawings are attached. See Attachments (AF) Utility Map 2020 and (AG) Utility Map 2021.

8. Please provide Depth to Groundwater along the new Utility Duct Bank route. (Drawings C107/C108) Response: Groundwater from a 2021 investigation was between 3.5’ to 4’ below grade and from a 2023 investigation was between 5’ to 8’ below grade. Note that groundwater fluctuates with seasonal variations in rainfall. See Attachments (AH) Geotech Report 2021 & (AI) Geotech Report 2023.

9. The Floor Plan is oriented with NORTH at the bottom of the drawing sheet. Drawings A-201 Exterior Elevations and A-251 Interior Elevations are named opposite of what they appear on the floor plans.

Please acknowledge our assumption is correct as this is confusing and could lead to errors during construction. Please review. (Drawings A201 & A251)

Response: The north arrow indicated on plan is correct. The elevations are labeled incorrectly on drawings A-201 and A-251.
