About this file
This is a Direct Bill Notice of Responsibilities for a pet insurance group program between MetLife Pet Insurance Solutions LLC and the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, an Ohio public entity. The program becomes effective December 1, 2024, and provides eligible U.S.-based employees and retirees of Franklin County the opportunity to apply for individual pet insurance policies at discounted rates. MetLife Pet will be responsible for policy issuance and renewal decisions based on underwriting guidelines and applicable law, and will provide advertising and enrollment materials to the Account for distribution to employees. The Account agrees to facilitate ongoing communications from MetLife Pet, promptly report employee status changes affecting eligibility, and provide thirty days' prior notice if it intends to use or switch third-party administrators. If the Account terminates its relationship with an insurance broker or agent, it must notify MetLife Pet within thirty days and provide at least sixty days' advance notice before appointing a new broker of record.
The Account has agreed not to offer or promote competing pet health insurance products to employees during the program term without written notification to MetLife Pet, designating this as a material term of the agreement. The Account remains liable for the performance of any third-party administrator it engages and is solely responsible for the TPA's payment, acts, and omissions, while MetLife Pet assumes no liability for third-party performance. MetLife Pet retains ownership of all MetLife marks and branding materials, which may only be used with pre-approval for the limited purpose of promoting the program. Customized marketing materials require MetLife Pet approval prior to distribution.
