About this file

This is a design specification attachment for the Forestmeadows Tennis Courts 17 & 18 Conversion Project in Tallahassee, Florida. The project involves comprehensive renovations to courts 17 and 18 at the Forestmeadows Parks and Recreation Center located at 4750 Meridian Road. The scope of work includes installation of three steel posts (4-inch diameter, Schedule 40, 15 feet long) with concrete footers for divider nets between the courts, installation of nylon-coated stainless steel cable with crank-operated divider nets, construction of a 6-inch trench drain system connected to a new 15-inch ADS drainpipe discharging to an existing catch basin, and extension of existing chain link fencing to specified distances from the new courts. Additional work includes adjusting the concrete ramp for ADA compliance, enlarging an existing gate opening on the east side to 12 feet, installation of a walk-through gate with Strong Arm latch, and installation of seven water irrigation heads (Hunter I-25) positioned at corners and between courts.

The specification requires the contractor to provide positive drainage away from the courts along the reconstructed perimeter and implement erosion and sediment control best management practices in accordance with NPDES General Permit requirements and any permits obtained by the City from Growth Management, Northwest Florida Water Management District, FDEP, or the Army Corps of Engineers. The trench drain shall be Zurn Z882 Perma Trench or approved equal, with all pipe constructed per ADS specifications with minimum one-foot cover. The contractor must locate the existing water line for connection to the courts' irrigation system and construct a bordered rectangular area at the inside perimeter using 8-inch solid pavers with a cleanout installed. A concrete curb is to be constructed 3 feet from the fence at the south side with number 57 stone installed between fence and curb atop buried lines.
