Work shall consist of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the job as specified. The selected Contractor shall be responsible to apply for, pay and obtain all required permits prior to the commencement of work. Work on this project shall be limited to Courts (17 & 18).
The proposed HydroCourt system shall be installed atop the existing materials on the Courts (17 & 18). Demolishment shall be limited to the removal of existing sub-surface sprinkler irrigation system beneath the courts, net posts and their footers, center anchors and their footers, any existing posts within Courts (17 & 18) and their footers, and any existing curbing border bricks or concrete blocks necessary to remove and re-construct to re-establish new correct elevation. All extracted materials shall be removed off premises (as soon as practical) and be disposed of in accordance with local, State and Federal regulations. Given that the existing slopes may not meet the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Regulations, a new curbing border shall be installed (by removing all existing curbs and re-constructing new curbs) or be constructed atop the existing curbs to establish new elevations that meet USTA, ASBA, and Har-Tru Guidelines. All new installations, slopes, methodology, and/or construction of the converted courts (17 & 18) shall meet the American Sport Builders Association and the US Tennis Association Regulations. Selected Contractor shall adhere to and be responsible to comply with the ASBA and USTA Regulations. No work will be accepted or approved by the owner until all completed work has been reviewed, inspected, and approved by USTA representatives and/or the City’s Project Manager.
Contractor shall examine all surface materials on the Tennis Courts (17 & 18) to ensure suitability to be re-used for the proposed HydroCourts. Contractor, at Contractor’s expense and as a part of the work, shall compact the existing surfaces. Contractor may bring in new fill-material (lime rock) to be added to or be mixed with existing surface-materials in order to compact and reach a compaction rate of 95% or higher. The Contractor shall provide reports of soil testing to the City Project Manager for review and approval prior to proceeding with further work.
The finish product for the construction of the new courts shall be Har-Tru, and work must be in accordance with Har-Tru specifications (see ATTACHMENT 5).
