#QuestionAnswer
1The bid form, i.e. Price/Cost Schedule, appears to be out of synch for the electrical items in terms of the form vs. the drawings. Deduct Alternate 02 for instance refers to drawing E-211C, but there it indicates that the EC is pricing Deduct Alternate 05. Then Deduct Alternate 06 in the bid form doesn’t appear to relate to anything electrical, but drawing E-211D indicates there is lighting relating to it. Please clarify.CBDG Response: The bid form mistakenly misnumbered the deduct alterantes and will be updated to sych with specidications voume 1. Contractor to follow the specifications for bid alternate numebrs.
2After the Rock Construction Entrance is removed, do we repair that area with sod or do we just seed?IFS Response: Per note 11 on Sheet L101 all pervious areas to be sod.

57 Will there be access to natural gas to run temporary heat during winter months? BFA Response: VA must respond to this.

VA Response: Yes 58 Please clarify the glass type required for the exterior insulated glass. The glazing specification for the typical insulated glass unit references clear inboard and outboard lites with the unit requiring a visible light transmittance that cannot be achieved with the make up listed. In addition, the insulated glass specification references Starphire low-iron glass, which further complicates the performance requirements.

The glass spec references performance values of: VLT: .49 U-value: .24 SHGC: .23 A standard, clear insulated glass unit with Solarban 60 low-e and argon infill will meet the specified u-value of .24, but the SHGC is .39 with a VLT of .70. Note that the utilizing Starphire glass in the unit make up will raise the VLT and SHGC numbers higher than what is listed.

In order to achieve a VLT of .49 and an SHGC of .23 a gray tinted glass would likely need to be incorporated on the outboard lite, but the SHGC would still fall a little short on the listed performance. Please advise.EYP Response: Please use one of the stipulated products (eg., Solarband 90), which should meet the performance requirements on the specs. Please see revised spec 08 80 00 attached. Staphire has been removed and Solarban 90 to be used as basis of deisgn. See product data sheet named, " Att. 8 - VA.ERI - SB90_datasheet" attached for reference.
59Please confirm if Kawneer’s 2500UTPG unitized curtainwall system is an acceptable alternative to price in lieu of the specified Harmon UCW8000 unitized wall system? In addition, please advise if a unitized curtainwall system is a project requirement. If a unitized system is not a requirement, would Kawneer’s 1600UT curtainwall system be an acceptable product utilize in lieu of the unitized system? Product flyers for each of the Kawneer systems is attached. Please advise.EYP Response: Contractor to comply with the performance requirements on the specs. A non-unitized system is acceptable. Kaeneer is an acceptablemanufacturer as long as it meets the performance requirements on the specs.
60Please confirm if the Besam SL500 is an acceptable alternative to price in lieu of the Stanley specified Duraglide 5200 series door system. Besam SL500 brochure attached for reference.EYP Response: Stanley is to be used for consistency with existing doors and maitenance.
61E-211A & 211B show nurse call dome lights connected to local lighting circuits, 277V. Cut sheets on E-522 show dome light as 24V. Please advise as to which is correct.BFA Response: The nurse call dome lights are shown incorrectly on the drawings. They will not be connected to the exam room lighting circuit. They are to be fed from the 24V power source mounted in room BN106 as shown on T-601 - Diagrams. Please see revised drawing E-011B and E-621 for location of the power supply and triple status control module and circuit for power supply.
62On E-522 there is a power supply and a Triple status control module shown. However, it appears that they are not located on any of the floor plan drawings, lighting, power or telecom. Where are these devices to be located?BFA Response: Please see revised drawing E-011B and E-621 for location of the power supply and triple status control module and circuit for power supply.
63Spec section 27 52 23 – 15 (2.16) lists contractor furnished equipment, outlet and junction boxes.
