Solicitation #36C25922C0029 OR HVAC System Upgrade PH 2 – Cheyenne 05/18/2023

RFI #5

OR HVAC PH 2

1. The new vav boxes on sheet MP2-2A are to replace existing ones. We are told to reconnect to existing. Will we be using new coil paks (valves, controls etc.), or reusing the existing ones already there?

A: Install new valves and controls per the detail 4 on M5-0 and detail 1 on M5-1.

1. The extent of the steam condensate demolition on sheet MP1-2B is unclear. The existing piping appears to penetrate the upper floor at possibly 2 different points. Will we be removing the existing piping to the floor penetration and capping at that point as well as at the main?

A: Yes, remove existing piping up through floor above OR 2 and patch the floor. Stubs up through penthouse floor are abandoned and capped above. Patch floor per architectural & structural requirements and paint patches in penthouse floor to match existing.

1. The extent of the heat reclaim demolition on sheet MP1-2A is unclear. The existing piping appears to penetrate the upper floor at possibly 4 different points. Will we be removing the existing piping to the floor penetration and capping at that point?

A: The verticals in this pipe are capped in the plenum and do not extend up through the roof deck above.

1. On sheet M2-3 the new condensing unit is to be placed on an existing dunnage frame. As the elevation of the condensing unit in relation to the AHU DX coil is not known, will suction risers be required at the AHU?

A: The DX piping will have approximately 10ft rise to get from roof level into the building through the existing louver & over the AHU. A suction riser should not be required for a 10ft rise.

1. If suction risers are required could a sized detail be provided?

A: A suction riser is not required.
