About this file

This document is an Amendment (0005, Revision 1) for a VA construction solicitation to renovate Clinical Learning Center (CLC) Building 134-2C at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL. The project involves renovating approximately 12,590 square feet, including professional services for construction, HVAC system tie-ins, and comprehensive facility upgrades. Key specifics include tying current HVAC system components to the new second-floor space, selective demolition, installation of metal studs, gypsum wall board, painting, electrical modifications, and telecommunications cabling.

The solicitation (36C25225B0005) requires the contractor to provide all tools, materials, labor, and quality assurance for a complete, compliant renovation. Notable requirements include establishing dust-tight containment, maintaining negative air pressure, implementing infection control measures, and coordinating specialized equipment installations. The amendment clarifies specific equipment acquisition responsibilities, noting that certain items like paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and patient lift systems will be VA-supplied with contractor installation. The project involves precise technical specifications, including compatibility requirements for building systems, communications cabling, and specialized medical facility infrastructure.
