About this file

This document contains a pre-solicitation announcement and tailored comment matrix for a construction project opportunity with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The construction project involves expanding and renovating the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida to increase capacity, eliminate deficiencies, and improve functionality, patient access, and privacy. The project includes bid alternates to deduct switchable privacy glass and replace it with either ceiling-mounted curtain tracks or clear tempered glass. The government intends to award a firm fixed-price construction contract with an estimated 365-day period of performance. The tailored comment matrix allows potential offerors to provide feedback and questions on the forthcoming request for proposal, with responses from the VA. The pre-solicitation states the solicitation will be issued on July 28, 2021 via SAM.gov and responses will be due as specified within.
