About this file
This is Amendment 0001 to solicitation 36C24125Q0164 for replacing campus fire hydrants at VA Maine Healthcare, updating the Statement of Work to include specific hydrant requirements and providing a map of hydrant locations.
The work involves replacing 13 campus fire hydrants with Waterous Pacer 5 1⁄4" dry-barrel hydrants featuring 4.5" NST/NH steamer ports and two 2.5" NST/NH side ports, reusing existing 4.5" Stortz adapters. The contractor must replace 3 existing hydrant shutoff valves if they don't close properly, or the last 3 valves if all function correctly. The scope includes replacing up to 100 linear feet of piping as needed, flow and pressure testing per NFPA 24, painting hydrants based on GPM flow, and installing 7' fencing around excavations. Two pricing options are required: one for all 13 hydrants (142 calendar day performance period) and another excluding hydrants 14 and 18 (128 calendar day period). The contractor must coordinate with the COR 2 weeks prior for any service interruptions, with Facilities Management handling actual shutdowns.
