About this file
This document contains a template for requesting a waiver from the network access standards for the Community Care Network program in Region 5 of Alaska. The template requests information including the contract ID, borough/SSA code, county name, state, provider specialty code, and specialty for which the waiver is being requested. It includes questions regarding the sources used to identify providers and facilities within the network access standards. Space is provided to list any non-contracted providers identified and the reasons for not contracting with them. The contractor must recommend how veterans in the borough will have access to the specialty referenced in the waiver, including any required changes to the network access and quality standards.
A related pre-solicitation notice seeks proposals for a contractor to establish and maintain a provider network to deliver medical, surgical, complementary and integrative services, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and dental care throughout Alaska as part of the new Veterans Community Care Program. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a single-source IDIQ contract for 9 months with seven one-year options. Proposals are due on June 1, 2020. The contractor will provide customer service, quality monitoring, and claims processing and payment for services ordered under the contract.
