About this file
This is a Bonds Requirements Acknowledgement Form issued by the Town of Palm Beach, Florida, outlining surety bonding requirements for contractors bidding on municipal projects. The Town requires bid bonds for all bids of $100,000 and over, with the bond amount set at not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount, except for bonds under one hundred dollars. For projects valued at $200,000 and over, contractors must provide both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond prior to commencing work, each covering the full scope of contract obligations. The Performance Bond must remain in effect for at least one year after project completion. All bonds must be issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in Florida, and the Town reserves the right to reject any surety and require issuance by an alternative provider. Contractors are required to record Payment and Performance Bonds among the public records of Palm Beach County and submit certified copies to the Town before work begins, with three (3) original bond sets required.
The Town exclusively accepts Electronic Bonds obtained through the Surety2000 platform, with all surety companies authorized to do business in Florida able to participate. Contractors must register with Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com and work with their surety broker to execute electronic bonds, using their EIN as the vendor ID. Once the surety broker confirms bond execution, the contractor logs into Surety2000 to digitally sign and receive an eleven-digit bond number for inclusion in the bid submission. Proof of recording must be submitted to the Town prior to issuance of a Purchase Order.
