About this file
This is Addendum Number 2 to the bidding documents for the Hollins High School Lift Station Replacement project issued by Pinellas County School District in Florida, dated August 25, 2026. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents dated July 10, 2026, and must be acknowledged by bidders on the Bid Form to avoid disqualification. The primary change pertains to the contract duration, which has been extended from the original 60 calendar days to 120 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed, with this extended period explicitly including both installation and ordering of materials and products. This modification addresses bidder concerns regarding the 10-week lead time required for EBARA submersible pumps following submittal approval, allowing adequate time for equipment procurement without compromising the original intent to minimize disruption to school facility operations.
The addendum provides clarifications on equipment and materials specifications in response to four bidder questions. Regarding pump selection, Pinellas County Schools confirmed it has no pumps standard and will accept alternative pumps, including Wilo Pumps, provided they meet the design criteria specified in the contract documents. For the wet well lining, the addendum confirms that interior and exterior walls of both the wet well and valve vault shall be fully waterproofed with Koppers Bitumastic Black Solution or equivalent, as noted on Sheet C4.0. The addendum also specifies that while a pump option is detailed on Sheet C4.0, the existing control systems are to be reused on the project. No changes to the project drawings were issued with this addendum.

CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS:
DIVISION 1 – GENERAL CONDITIONS
Paragraph 1.1.F: Delete Paragraph 1.1.F in its entirety and replace with the following:
“F. The length of the contract shall be for one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. This includes the installation and the ordering of the materials and products specified herein. This time stipulation is very explicit and is essential to the completion of the work specified.”
QUESTIONS:
1. Scope of Work item F establishes a 60 calendar day contract duration from NTP that expressly includes ordering of materials. Lead times for the EBARA submersible pumps for this project was quoted at 10 weeks after submittal approval. Will the Board consider either extending the contract duration to 120+ days or commencing contract time upon delivery of major equipment?
a. The duration is changed per this addendum. However, it is the desire of Pinellas County Schools that construction time at the site be minimized so as not to disturb the ongoing operations of that facility.
2. Will the School District accept Wilo Pumps as an alternate to the proposed Ebara pumps in the plans?
a. Pinellas County Schools does not have a pumps standard; pumps that meet the design criteria identified in the specifications are acceptable (Wilo meets this requirement).
3. Please verify that the wet well is to be lined and the lining manufacturer that is approved for this project.
