About this file
This is a Q&A document containing six questions and answers related to a janitorial services solicitation for DHS Customs and Border Protection facilities in Sarnia, Ontario. The document clarifies that recent and relevant past performance is not required to bid, though it should be included if available. Past performance information should be submitted under the prime contractor's name, and Canadian subcontractors are permitted. The previous contract number was 70B03C20P00000137.
The service location consists of two trailers, approximately 250 square feet each, without running water. The facilities currently use "zapper" toilets that incinerate waste and outdoor porta-potties. The trailers are complete except for the area with the zapper toilets. Services are to be performed weekly Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays), with contractors required to provide their own cleaning supplies and water. Work includes floor cleaning, dusting counters, wiping down refrigerators, desks, window ledges, bathrooms, and cleaning overhead light fixtures as needed.

RFI Responses
1. 1- Regarding the past performance form, do we need to have janitorial services as Past Performance to bid on this contract? We did multiple forestry services and vehicle deliveries. We also sent multiple janitorial services proposals in the past, and intend to keep doing so.
· Answer: No – but if you do fill it out, past performances must be recent and relevant. If you don’t have any recent and relevant past performances, then leave it blank when submitting your quote.
2. If it's possible for us to bid: do we have to put the contractor's name or the subcontractor doing the janitorial work's name on the past performance form? Or both?
· Answer: the prime contractors information should be submitted since the prime will be the one receiving a contract with the Government.
3. Is it possible to have a Canadian company as a subcontractor to do the janitorial work?
· Answer: Yes
4. Could you please provide the current / previous contract number?
· Answer: 70B03C20P00000137
5. I sent my contractor out to look at the trailers and he was told that the trailers are not yet completed. Is there an expected completion timeframe for the trailers? Are the bathrooms being used without running water? Are there portable toilets available?
· Answer: “zapper” toilets are currently being used since there is no running water. It incinerates waste. There are also outside porta potties. Other than the small area with the “zapper toilets”, the trailers are complete.
6. How many trailers need service?
· Answer: 2
