About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a janitorial services solicitation at Customs and Border Protection facilities in Sarnia, Ontario. The Q&A clarifies three key points: (1) prior janitorial services past performance is not required to bid, though any submitted past performance must be recent and relevant; (2) only the prime contractor's information should be included on the past performance form; and (3) Canadian companies are permitted to serve as subcontractors for the janitorial work.

The associated opportunity requires weekly cleaning services for facilities in Sarnia, Ontario, consisting of approximately 250 square foot trailers with no running water. Services include floor cleaning, dusting counters, cleaning refrigerators, desks, window ledges, bathrooms, and overhead light fixtures as needed. The contractor must provide their own cleaning supplies and water. Services are to be performed on a pre-approved weekday, excluding Federal Holidays.

RFI Responses

1. 1- Regarding the past performance form, do we need to have janitorial services as Past Performance to bid on this contract? We did multiple forestry services and vehicle deliveries. We also sent multiple janitorial services proposals in the past, and intend to keep doing so.

· Answer: No – but if you do fill it out, past performances must be recent and relevant. If you don’t have any recent and relevant past performances, then leave it blank when submitting your quote.

2. If it's possible for us to bid: do we have to put the contractor's name or the subcontractor doing the janitorial work's name on the past performance form? Or both?

· Answer: the prime contractors information should be submitted since the prime will be the one receiving a contract with the Government.

3. Is it possible to have a Canadian company as a subcontractor to do the janitorial work?

· Answer: Yes
