Removals
Existing Signage to Remain Existing signage to remain includes but is not limited to:
AED device signage Artwork descriptions Bulletin Boards Dedication plaques Digital Signage and Displays Dimensional Lettering* Donor recognition Vinyl lettering* *Unless otherwise noted
Existing Signage Removals Signage contractor is responsible for developing and coordinating a phased project schedule to minimize the time between signage removals and new signage installations. Phasing should be completed so that all stairwell signage is completed first and all other signage will be completed on a floor by floor basis. Signage Contractor will provide a written proposed schedule for the Owner’s rep approval.
There should be no gap in signage as a result of these removals.. Signage vendor is responsible for providing temporary signage when the sign removal and installation of the new sign cannot occur on the same business day.
Patch / Paint Signage contractor is responsible for patching walls and painting walls/doors in the area where signs were removed. If a subcontractor is used for this work, then Signage contractor will be responsible for coordinating those efforts and will be responsible for defining the subcontractor’s contract. Owner will provide paint colors and finish.
Bi-Weekly meetings Bi-Weekly meetings with the Owner’s rep and PLANIT will be held on site to walk through the upcoming phases of work and confirm precisely which signs are to be removed. Signage contractor’s project superintendent must regularly attend these meetings.
Sign Agent Signage contractor is responsible for obtaining a mobile license from Sign Agent and providing an iPad to the installation crew. The iPad must be synced with the master Sign Agent document at the end of each business day. This will be required to view the project documents and track progress during installation.

Questions during installation If questions arise (ex. sign removals or precise locations of new signs), please contact Owner’s rep and PLANIT immediately before proceeding with removal or new installation. Photograph(s) of the existing condition will be required to accompany each question.
Completion of work As each new sign is installed, Signage contractor is responsible for taking a photo and adding it as a comment in Sign Agent. Undocumented work will not be accepted as completed work.
As each phase is completed for each building (stairwell signage S1/S2 is to be completed first, then floor by floor), Signage contractor will ask for Owner’s rep to inspect and accept completed work.
