About this file
This is Amendment 0007 to Solicitation 140R4026R0006, issued by the Bureau of Reclamation's Upper Colorado Region on May 11, 2026. The amendment addresses a contractor's questions regarding specifications for an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system with battery backup capabilities.
The contractor raised concerns about missing Division 26.33.01 specifications for batteries, noting the absence of racking, spill containment, battery monitor, and hydrogen detector specifications. The contractor also questioned the battery configuration, specifically referencing a string of 60 and requesting clarification on whether each UPS unit would utilize the same battery bank with 6-hour backup at 480VDC. The contracting officer's response clarified that Section 26.33.53 contains the complete UPS system requirements including the battery system. Design requirements are specified in Part 1.06, with battery system details outlined in Part 1.06.E.2, and required battery capacity specified in Part 2.01.B.5. Part 2.01.E requires the battery bank to be housed in a separate cabinet from the UPS unit. The amendment states that no edits to the specifications are necessary. All amendments must be acknowledged by offerors prior to the deadline specified in the solicitation. No further questions will be accepted following this amendment.

The purpose of this amendment is to:
1. Provide the following Question & Answer:
Q: You have some errors in the Solicitation.
It missing the entire Division 26.33.01 for the
Batteries. You have listed n the Question a string of 60. I would think the old ups used
Lead Acid Wet cells. You also have listed new batteries but no specifications racking, spill, battery monitors, H2 detectors. Then you listed
4 strings but no battery specs. Then use have in the Question both new UPS will use the same
Battery bank. Each Ups would come with 6hrs battery back up at 480vdc. Please Advise and fix the specs and Division 26.33
A: Section 26 33 53 includes the requirements of the UPS system including the battery system.
Part 1.06 lists the design requirements for the complete system including in 1.06, E, 2, "Battery system". Part 2.01, B, 5 lists the required battery capacity. Part 2.01, E requires the battery bank to be in a separate cabinet from the UPS. No edits to the specifications are necessary.
