About this file
This document is a Mineral Standard Test Report from JACO Analytical Laboratory for a transformer oil sample. The report provides test results for various physical and chemical properties of the transformer oil, including date sampled, gallons, PCB content, and test results over several years from 2017 to 2022.
The related federal contract opportunity is for a Transformer Supply IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contract for the Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation. The solicitation number is 140R3024R0019 and the contract is for transformer materials and oil processing services for the Hoover Dam. The contract is a civilian agency opportunity.

Exceeds limit for in-service oil Type I (0.0% min and 0.08% max). Acceptable for in-service oil Type II (0.08% min and 0.3% max).
Diagnostics: Reporting Limit 10ppb. New insulation with a high degree of mechanical strength will typically have a Degree of Polmerization (DP) of 1000-1300. “Middle Aged” paper is approximately 500 and paper with less than 250 is in its “Old Age”. Severely degraded insulation with a DP of 150 or less will have very little mechanical strength and may result in a transformer failure. Estimates are based on transformers filled with mineral oil. Estimated DP based upon Chendong model study.

ASTM D-6595 Metals in Oil Analysis1
