About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for Request for Quotation No. 140P8425Q0004 for demolishing Crystal Creek Camp at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. The document summarizes a second site visit conducted on April 4, 2025, where contractors toured the project site and received clarifications on demolition requirements. Key questions addressed include specifics about infrastructure removal, such as baseball field infrastructure, telephone poles, underground utilities, septic systems, and retaining walls, with most answers directing contractors to review Attachment 2 (Statement of Work) and Attachment 3 (Plans/Drawings) for detailed specifications.

The document also includes two additional project questions received via email, specifically addressing site access (confirming no alternative route to the camp exists) and permit responsibilities (confirming the contractor must obtain permits). Amendment 0005 was issued to update the solicitation with the site visit sign-in sheet and this Q&A summary. Notably, the project involves comprehensive demolition of camp facilities, with specific instructions for handling various site elements, and requires contractors to carefully review all provided attachments to understand the full scope of work.

DEMOLISH CRYSTAL CREEK CAMP

WHISKEYTOWN NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

SECOND SITE VISIT – APRIL 4, 2025

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

(Revised Final Version)

SITE VISIT SUMMARY:

A second site visit occurred on Friday, April 4th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) at the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Visitor Center, located at 14412 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Whiskeytown, California. Upon arrival, all participating contractors were asked to sign in on the provided sign-in sheet. A brief overview was given by the NPS, covering general safety considerations and logistics related to traveling to the project site. Each contractor also received a Q&A form with instructions to document any questions that should be routed to the Contracting Officer (CO). Following the briefing, the group caravanned to the project site. Once on-site, the NPS actively facilitated the walkthrough, making rounds throughout the area to answer questions, guiding attention to key areas, and reminding contractors to log their questions and consult the solicitation for any additional specifications or requirements. Additionally, contractors were provided access to the Federal Highways Bridge Report, allowing them to review it directly and take photos as needed for reference. The site visit concluded at approximately 1:00 p.m. PDT.
