SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140P4326R0009
PARK - PMIS: 314055 / 335201
PROJECT TITLE: The Na onal Park Service, Lowell Na onal Historical Park - Security Upgrades, SOCILITATION QUESTIONS 02: 06/08/2026
LOWE 314055
Q18. Is there a Reflected Ceiling Plan for the building(s) areas that have drop or hard ceilings. If refers to the RCP on Drawing E8.01. I did not see one in the 2 sets.
A18. (previously answered in Question “Q7 dated 05/21/2026) The details shown on DRAWING E8.01/DETAILS 1, 2, & 3 are typical details. The locations where hard ceilings exist are:
1. Boott Mill #6 / Counting House - wall access panels as required to access.
2. Mogan Cultural Center – ceiling access panels shall be coordinated with the
COR in the field once distribution plans are established.
3. KSAH - wall access panels as required at exterior doors receiving new PAC units.
4. Maintenance Facility (220 Aiken) – drop ceiling in main entry may be accessed, remaining (2) doors are open to structure above with no drop or hard ceilings.
Q19. On the plans for the access-controlled doors the Symbol “L” represents electrified hardware. I’m assuming it’s an electrified door hinge? What is the electrified door hinge feeding? Some instances it could be an electric crash bar and in some it could be an electrified mortice lock.
A19. Please REF. Spec Section 08 71 00 – Door Hardware, 1.1B; 1.4C; 2.1E; and 3.6 Door Hardware Sets.
Q20 The Symbol P in an octagon stands for Electrified panic hardware, Is that an electrified Crash bar or an electric Crashbar with arms/pins that go to the door frame and the floor? We checked Division 8 and the door hardware schedule it does not have any info. Can you provide an example using double doors A20. Electrified panic hardware is a “crashbar”. Spec Section 08 71 00, 2.4 Exit Devices A.6 references electrical options. We recommend reviewing the plans and Spec Section 08 71 00 in entirety including Door Hardware Sets.
Q21. On the doors that are split where 1 door is larger than its mate, Are you looking for the electric strike to be installed on the smaller door or are we going with an electrified mortice lock?
A21. For doors 322, 323, and 327, Please reference the door schedule on A5.01. The RX function denoted as “YES” refers to a Request-to-Exit (RTE) switch built into an exit device. Spec Section 08 71 00, Hardware Set HW-03 indicates electric strikes. The electric strike should be installed on the smaller door leaf.
