About this file

This document is a Summary of Work specification for a federal construction project at Racepoint Beach within Cape Cod National Seashore in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The project involves demolishing and renovating existing facilities, including removing a lifeguard and women's changing room facility, installing two new modular double vault toilets, creating new walkways and accessible routes, and performing site improvements. The base bid and two optional scopes of work include site preparation, installing new parking infrastructure, relocating facilities, and completing required environmental and FAA permitting.

Key project details include specific requirements for site disturbance, archeological monitoring, and seasonal construction restrictions (no ground-disturbing work between April 15 and October 15 to protect Eastern Box Turtles). The project requires obtaining Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection permits, submitting FAA Form 7460-1 for airport airspace analysis, and ensuring accessibility compliance. The work will be conducted under a single prime contract with limited site access, and the contractor must coordinate closely with the National Park Service, follow park regulations, and minimize disruption to existing park operations and public access.
