About this file
This document is a technical specification for fiberglass reinforced plastic fabrications required for a federal construction project to replace a transcanyon waterline and improve potable water systems at Grand Canyon National Park. Key details include specifications for fiberglass reinforced plastic grating, structural members, baffle walls, and supporting structure to be designed by a registered structural engineer. Materials must be fiberglass reinforced vinyl ester resin with fire retardant properties and manufacturer-applied abrasive grit surfacing. Submittals require shop drawings, product data, samples, design calculations and manufacturer certifications. Installation must follow manufacturer instructions and meet tolerances for location, alignment, plumb and level.
