Question Answer
Gould’s providing a no quote for their 3393 pumps because they are not capable of the flow and pressures. Flowserve will not sell to companies they view as competitors, preventing us from purchasing from them.
Would manufacturers of rings pumps such as Ruhrpumpen or KSB be acceptable?
The supplied pumps must be manufactured in the USA by a company incorporated in the USA.
Although ring pumps are easier with maintenance and disassembly if there are issues, they are less reliable due to the imbalance thrust created from the impellers being the same direction. Can multi‐stage horizontal split case centrifugal pumps with balanced thrusts be considered since they typically exhibit better long‐term performance?
No. Imbalanced thrust is a concern due to floor slab loads and associated vibration. The piping configuration will not allow a split case pump.
Would rebuilt or surplus pumps that were never used be acceptable to use for the project or are new pumps only required?
No. The intent of the project is to provide new pumps with associated warrantees.
Would rebuilding the two pumps being replaced to like new conditions be an option?
No. The scope of the project is to replace these pumps due to on‐going maintenance and reliability issues.
Would the new ITT Gould’s 3x6‐9 pumps owned by Park Services that are currently in storage be considered as an option for the project if they were inspected, past QC and were warrantied for 2 years?
No. These pumps are too large for building entry and if inside the building too large for O&M activities.
Would Dropbox or other electronic tool be acceptable for proposal submission? Are any hard copies required?
Please mail a USB with separate technical and business/price volumes on it for submission. No paper copies are needed.
