About this file

This document is Amendment 2 to a federal contract solicitation that adds two standard clauses governing option items for increased quantities.

The amendment incorporates FAR clause 52.217-7, which permits the Government to require delivery of separately priced option line items at quantities and prices specified in the contract Schedule. The Contracting Officer may exercise such options by written notice to the Contractor within 30 days after contract award. Delivery of option quantities shall continue at the same rate as the base contract items unless the parties mutually agree otherwise. Additionally, the amendment includes provision 52.217-5 (Evaluation of Options - Deviation), which establishes that the Government will evaluate all offers for award by adding the total price of all options to the base requirement price during the evaluation process. This evaluation methodology does not obligate the Government to exercise any options after contract award.
