Vendor/ O eror Questions 140A0425R0009 – Phase I Security System upgrade C58

1. Access Control System:

a) Is the intent to provide all new card reader cables to exis ng and new card reader loca ons?

b) OR can the exis ng cables be u lized, provide new cables / readers for new loca ons and connect them to new Access Control Controllers?

The Installa on shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instruc ons, plans, specifica ons, and the requirements of the Statement of Work (SOW) as stated in the following.

The replacement of the exis ng system shall include all components and wiring associated with the exis ng system.

c) For either case, please provide new loca ons of card readers wanted.

2. Intercom System:

a) Is the intent to provide all new cat6 cables to exis ng and new intercom sta on loca ons to make it a true VoIP System?

b) OR can the exis ng cabling and intercom sta ons be u lized, provide new cabling / intercom sta ons for new loca ons and connect to a new digital head-end?

c) For either case, please provide new loca ons of intercom sta ons wanted;

The system shall include all the hardware and so ware necessary to allow the establishment of talk paths through intercom and loudspeaker paging systems throughout the facility.

The contractor may propose a system that uses the exis ng intercom and loudspeaker hardware already in place or one that proposes using new intercom and loudspeaker hardware.

The contractor’s proposal shall indicate which hardware op on is being proposed.

3. PLC Door Control System:

a) Is the intent to provide all new door control cables to exis ng and new door loca ons?

b) OR can the exis ng cables be u lized, provide new cables / door hardware (as stated on the 8th bullet in this sec on) for new loca ons and connect to a new PLC Controller?

The system shall include all hardware and so ware necessary for controlling all doors within the facility and the interior ves bule doors at the front entrance to the building.

c) For the new locks iden fied on the 8th bullet in this sec on, will these new controlled / monitored openings require access control readers and intercom sta ons?

The system needs to have a cards and card reader along with the inter controls with up to 200 cards available for the staff and must be capable to enter and delete each card when needed.

The system must be able to lock and unlock doors in the facility both remotely from a user interface in Central Control and by a redundant system designated for facility staff from a user interface within the administra on area.

The system shall be capable of controlling access to certain loca ons in the facility by interlocking door schemes.

4. Electronic Cell Check System:

a) Please provide more informa on on how you would like this stand-alone cell check system to integrate to the new camera system.

The SOW does not state the cell check system is to be stand-alone. See 3rd bullet in Electronic Cell Check System sec on

b) Please provide the manufacturer of your Jail Management System (JMS) for integra on protocol to the cell check system.

The JMS is to be proposed in the Contractor's bid as there is no exis ng Cell Check System

5. Overall ques ons

a) Does the new cabling need to be in conduit, or can it be free aired like the exis ng cabling?

The CCTV system shall be on a dedicated electrical circuit and all wiring or cabling installed shall be neat with a professional appearance and protected to prevent tampering. Secure all horizontal runs and plumb all ver cal runs.
