About this file

This is a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) pre-installation field survey document for Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas, prepared in conjunction with a District-wide RFP issued by Dallas Independent School District (DISD). The survey documents existing network infrastructure, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment across the Hillcrest High School campus, which consists of one main distribution frame (MDF) and nine intermediate distribution frames (IDFs). The facility currently operates Cisco switching platforms (9407 and 9300 series) with security and public-address switching infrastructure present in most locations, supported by Eaton UPS systems ranging from 1.5kVA to 3kVA units with external battery modules in select closets. The contract opportunity is structured as a three-year agreement with two successive one-year renewal options, not to exceed five years total, on an "as-needed" basis for District-wide UPS procurement. Either party must provide written notice ninety days prior to contract expiration if renewal is not intended.

The field survey was limited to visible infrastructure observation and does not include engineering analysis, equipment sizing, load calculations, design recommendations, or procurement decisions. Critical information not documented during the site visit includes UPS operational metrics (serial numbers, installation dates, load percentages, runtime information, battery health status, warranty information), electrical specifications (receptacle configurations, panel identification, circuit ratings, voltage measurements), grounding and bonding details, environmental measurements, physical infrastructure dimensions, and connected device inventories. The survey identified that power service locations throughout campus were wall-mounted and generally situated ten to fifteen feet from network rack locations, with no unsafe electrical conditions documented. This RFP is being issued in accordance with Title 2 of the Code of Federal Regulations (2CFR) Part 200 requirements and may utilize local, state, federal, and grant-funded programs for procurement.
