About this file

This document is an insurance requirements attachment for maintenance service providers issued by the Cherokee County School System's Office of Risk Management and Benefits in Georgia, effective July 1, 2022. The requirements establish mandatory insurance coverage levels that maintenance service providers must maintain throughout their engagement with the school district. Proposers must provide comprehensive or commercial general liability insurance with one million dollars in aggregate single limit coverage and one million dollars in each occurrence combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage. Additionally, proposers must carry business automobile liability insurance with one million dollars each accident combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage, including uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, and workers' compensation insurance at Georgia statutory limits with a minimum of five hundred thousand dollars in employer's liability coverage limits.

Certificates of Insurance must be issued within fifteen days of request and prior to any service performance, with the Cherokee County School System listed as the Certificate Holder and Additional Insured on all policies. All insurance providers must be rated A- or better, and the school system requires written notice of any policy cancellation. The document notes that additional insurance limits may be imposed at the discretion of school system personnel following review of a vendor's application. Inquiries regarding insurance requirements can be directed to the Risk Management and Benefits Office at 770.704.4264 or by fax at 770.721.6319.
