About this file

This is a Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form required by the State of Florida under Florida Statute 287.087 for the Stormwater CRRP Construction WORCS Contract CDBG-DR North opportunity managed by Hillsborough County Engineering and Operations Department. The form mandates that vendors certify compliance with drug-free workplace requirements as a condition of bidding on county contracts. Vendors must publish statements notifying employees that unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of controlled substances is prohibited in the workplace and specify disciplinary actions for violations. Additionally, vendors must inform employees about the dangers of drug abuse, the company's drug-free workplace policy, available drug counseling and rehabilitation programs, and penalties for drug abuse violations. All employees engaged in providing commodities or contractual services must receive a copy of this statement and acknowledge that as a condition of employment on the contract, they will abide by its terms and notify their employer within five days of any conviction or guilty plea related to controlled substance violations occurring in the workplace.

The certifying officer authorized to sign the form must attest that the firm complies fully with all requirements outlined in the certification. Vendors must make a good faith effort to maintain a drug-free workplace through implementation of these requirements and impose sanctions on or require participation in drug abuse assistance or rehabilitation programs for any convicted employee. This certification is a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the Hillsborough County stormwater contract, which involves culvert repair and replacement work estimated at $18,258,390.04 throughout northern Hillsborough County and potentially other areas of the county's stormwater infrastructure network on an as-needed basis.
