About this file
This document is Addendum No. 2 for the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority's project to reroof the Museum Hangar and Maintenance Building at the Knoxville Downtown Island Airport (DKX). The project consists of two separate bid items: Item No. 1 involves selective demolition and installation of new metal roofing panels, coping, roof light panels, building insulation, and interior improvements for the Museum Hangar, including repair and painting of the hangar structural frame. Item No. 2 involves similar work for the Maintenance Building, including selective demolition and installation of metal roofing panels, coping, roof skylights, and building insulation. The contract time for each bid item is 120 consecutive calendar days, with a pre-bid conference held on February 11, 2025, and the addendum issued on February 17, 2025.
The addendum includes modifications to the technical specifications, adding sections for plastic paneling, thermal insulation, hollow metal doors and frames, resinous flooring, roller window shades, and interior lighting, while deleting the section on resilient tile flooring. The project will be funded by AIP BIL grant resources administered by TDOT, with a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program goal of 8.90% participation. Bidders are required to submit various attachments, including a bid bond, non-collusion affidavit, and other certifications. The bid proposal will remain open for 180 calendar days, with liquidated damages of $500 per consecutive calendar day for failure to complete the work within the specified contract time.
