About this file

This document contains a public synopsis for an upcoming federal solicitation as well as specifications for repairing, installing, inspecting, testing, and decommissioning fire dampers at a Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in New York. The solicitation will require contractors to prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings of approximately 350 fire dampers located in two buildings on the medical center campus. The contractor will inspect and test all fire dampers for accessibility and function, and provide access where needed through installation of access panels and doors. The contractor must also research existing drawings and verify damper locations. The estimated cost range for the project is $200,000 to $500,000. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued on August 27, 2021, and the project completion period will be 360 calendar days from the notice to proceed. The solicitation will be set aside exclusively for verified veteran-owned small businesses.
