About this file
This document provides submittal requirements for a construction project. It outlines the process and timeline for submitting shop drawings, samples, mockups and as-built drawings. It requires electronic and hard copy submittals be provided for all materials and assemblies. A submittal log and schedule must be submitted prior to construction start. Submittals will be reviewed within 10 days and responded to with one of five actions: no exceptions taken, make corrections noted, revise and resubmit, rejected, or for record only. Substitutions may be proposed but must include comparable specification data and details of related work changes. Pre-construction, periodic and final completion photographs are also required.

PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 PURPOSE
A. This section specifics general methods and requirements of project work related submittals. Additionally detailed submittal requirements may be found in the bid design and/or technical specification sections.
1.2 REFERENCES
A. The publications listed below form a part of this subcontract to the extent referenced.
1. PPPL General Provisions for Non-Commercial Subcontracts
Part G - Provisions & Conditions for Fixed Price Construction Subcontracts
2. 010010 General Requirements
3. 013100 Environment, Safety, and Health Requirements
1.3 SHOP DRAWINGS, MATERIAL SAMPLES, AND MOCKUPS
A. Subcontractor shall provide submittals for all materials and assemblies used on the project which are normally required in the construction industry.
B. The Subcontractor shall submit a submittal log prior to the start of construction. This log shall include all submittals required for construction of the project and show anticipated submission dates that allow sufficient time for review and approval.
The subcontractor will re-submit this log if any changes are necessary during construction.
C. The Subcontractor shall supply three (3) copies of all operation and maintenance manuals and an electronic PDF version for equipment furnished by the Subcontractor or their lower-tier subcontractor prior to final acceptance of the project by PPPL.
D. The Subcontractor shall complete the "Submittal for Review Transmittal" (or similar using Construction Management Software) form for each submittal, reference Attachment A.
E. Shop drawings of all trades shall be submitted by the Subcontractor, who shall indicate by signed stamp on the drawings, that he has checked the shop drawings and that the work shown is in accordance with the Subcontract requirements and that it has been checked for dimension and relationship with the work of all trades. These drawings shall be submitted not later than the approved schedule for shop drawing transmittal, shall contain all required detailed information, and shall be submitted in logical order to facilitate proper review.
F. Shop drawings which relate to a complete assembly, structure or system with various parts shall not be submitted until all drawings required to completely detail that assembly, structure or system are complete, so that they may be checked in relation to each other.
SUBMITTALS 013300 - 2
G. Mockups: Before installing portions of the Work requiring mockups, build mockups for each form of construction and finish required to comply with the following requirements, using materials indicated for the completed Work:
1. Scope and sizes of mock-ups are shown on the Subcontract Drawings and Technical Specifications;
2. Construct mockups in location and orientation at Project site approved by
PPPL;
3. Mockups shall be complete in all respects and shall represent the final completed assembly as required by the Work. This includes structural framework assemblies as required to support and display the mockups;

5. The subcontractor shall be responsible for revisions to the mockup as directed by the AE or PPPL;
6. Mockups shall remain in place until during construction in an undisturbed condition as a standard for judging the completed work;
7. Demolish and remove mockups and restore areas as directed by PPPL.
1.4 AS-BUILT DRAWINGS
A. As specified in PPPL General Provisions and Special Terms and Conditions for Construction Subcontracts, the Subcontractor shall furnish As-Built drawings as outlined below.
B. The Subcontractor shall maintain a set of prints of the Subcontract drawings in the construction office at the job site. An electronic set of prints may be utilized with PPPL approval. A daily record, in red, shall be kept on these prints of the work installed with all modifications or changes thereon. This set of prints shall be available to PPPL for inspection at all times and print copies provided upon request to PPPL within 24 hours of the request being made. PPPL (and/or the CM) and the Subcontractor's superintendent shall review the as-built drawings, and the scheduling of a progress payment update will be contingent on whether the as-built mark-up set is current and accurate.
C. Upon completion of all work, the Subcontractor shall transmit the above set of marked-up prints to PPPL (or the AE). Prior to submittal, the Subcontractor shall sign them to indicate that the work was installed as shown thereon.
