About this file
This is a Payment Bond form (Document 00620) issued by the University System of New Hampshire (USNH) for the CM Services project at Keene State College (KSC) Student Center involving Mabel Brown Room Theatrical and House Lighting Upgrades. The payment bond serves as a financial guarantee mechanism requiring the principal contractor and surety to ensure payment to all laborers, material suppliers, and subcontractors involved in project execution. Claimants must file notice of unpaid claims within ninety (90) days after project completion and acceptance by USNH, with claims specifying the amount owed and the party to whom materials were supplied or for whom labor was performed. Any claimant seeking to enforce a claim or intervene in litigation must file a petition in superior court for the county where the contract was principally performed within one year of filing the initial notice.
The bond requires surety companies to be listed on the U.S. Treasury Department's current Circular 570 list and authorized to conduct business in New Hampshire. The penal sum amount, contract date, bond number, and specific liability limits for each surety must be completed on the form. The principal and all sureties must execute the bond with appropriate corporate seals and provide duly certified copies of powers of attorney and corporate resolutions authorizing their representatives to execute the bond. The bond obligation becomes void upon the principal's prompt payment to all parties furnishing labor, material, or both for the contract work and any authorized modifications thereto.
