Aligning Manufacturability & Pre-production Design (AMPD) for Storage Technologies
The Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory is seeking applications for its Aligning Manufacturability & Pre-production Design (AMPD) for Storage Technologies funding opportunity (DE-FOA-0003425). The program aims to improve the manufacturability of energy storage technologies through pre-production design innovations, with the goal of enabling manufacturing scale-up to meet the energy storage needs of American consumers. Key requirements include advancing energy storage technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL)/Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) 4 to at least TRL/MRL 5. Applicants must submit a Technical Volume Cover Page, Budget Justification Worksheet, Technology Maturation Plan, Statement of Project Objectives, and Project Management Plan by the March 17, 2025 deadline. The program will make approximately $8 million in FY2025 funding available for 4 awards of approximately $2 million each, with a required 20% cost share. Eligible applicants include domestic entities such as higher education institutions, for-profit and non-profit organizations, state/local governments, and Indian Tribes. Projects will be administered as cooperative agreements through the Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory under the Electricity Research, Development and Analysis program (CFDA 81.122).
