FY25 Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
The NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries is seeking applications for the FY25 Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program. This competitive scholarship provides funding for master's and doctoral degrees in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology, and related disciplines. The program particularly encourages applications from women and members of minority groups who may face financial constraints in pursuing advanced degrees. Applicants must submit a pre-application by October 31, 2024 and a full application by February 14, 2025. The evaluation criteria focus on the applicant's qualifications, proposed research plan, and alignment with the science priorities of the National Marine Sanctuary System. Scholarships are valued at approximately $47,000 per year and will be announced by May or June 2025. Recipients will be required to participate in an annual orientation, develop an outreach product, give presentations, and complete a 4-6 week program collaboration at a NOAA facility. This program is authorized under 16 U.S.C. 1445c-1 and 1445c and is funded annually with 1% of the amount appropriated to the National Marine Sanctuaries Act.

2025 Pacific Northwest Bay Watershed Education and Training
The 2025 Pacific Northwest Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) program, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) through the Department of Commerce, is seeking grant applications for environmental education projects. The program will provide funding for Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) for K-12 students and teachers in Oregon and Washington, with a focus on two priority areas: (1) systemic classroom-integrated MWEEs that promote climate resilience and include high-quality teacher professional development, and (2) MWEEs that incorporate Indigenous Knowledge and climate resilience. Eligible applicants include K-12 schools, higher education institutions, nonprofits, government agencies, and tribal governments. Projects must align with educational standards, incorporate NOAA assets, demonstrate partnerships, and include detailed evaluation plans. Applications are due by March 13, 2025. The program will provide approximately $750,000 in FY2025, with individual awards ranging from a minimum of $60,000 for one-year projects up to $150,000 for two-year projects. Projects must target teachers and/or students in the Pacific Northwest region, defined as Oregon and Washington, and are expected to begin on or after August 1, 2025.
